The last poem of Love as Drama turns toward the section that follows. Life is a game — but a game “without shield and sword” is “not worth the candle.” What matters is not to give death or take life, but to fill the emptiness in other souls “with the Perfect,” and to heal. And when the wish to live goes and one cannot forgive oneself? “Don’t perish — pray! Seek, and you will find” the paths to where “you will understand that they are not all lying — and find the meaning of life.” The gospel echo is deliberate; the capitals of the title are a hand on the shoulder.
