Вибери свет
„Разве жизнь прекрасна ?” –Скажет человек.И вопреки себе, напрасно,Ответит – «Нет».
Безусловно, жить во тьмеНе есть краса,Ведь жизнь без Бога –Сплошная тьма.
Бог есть слово,Слово – есть свет,Кто понимает слово,Не ответит – «Нет».

Choose the Light
"Is life really beautiful?" —a man will say.And against himself, in vain,he'll answer — "No."
Without a doubt, to live in darknessis no beauty, for life without Godis unbroken darkness.
God is the word, the word is light;whoever understands the wordwill not answer — "No."
About the poem
The title is a Ukrainian verb with a Russian noun — the author’s two languages in three words. “Is life beautiful?” a person asks, and “against himself, in vain,” answers no. Life without God is “total darkness”; “God is the word, the word is light,” and whoever understands the word will not say no. Don’t hide, don’t run; accept the word, “and do not perish.” Life is beautiful, “nothing is more beautiful” — and choosing death “puts out the bright light in vain.” A hymn in plain quatrains, and the collection’s clearest answer to its own darkest poems. The poem argues with despair in the simplest possible language because simplicity is part of its ethic. Light must be chosen, not merely admired. The mixed Ukrainian-Russian title quietly reinforces that idea: identity itself can hold more than one linguistic inheritance without breaking.
